Cardiometabolic Health
Cardiometabolic health relates to a range of conditions, beginning with insulin resistance and progressing to metabolic syndrome, pre-diabetes, and finally to more severe conditions including cardiovascular disease (CVD) and type 2 diabetes (T2DM). These conditions share risk factors, such as overweight and obesity, dyslipidemia, and high blood pressure,. To reduce the risk of developing cardiometabolic disease, management has a particular focus on increasing physical activity, improving diet quality, reducing tobacco use and alcohol intake, as well as other lifestyle factors including sleep and stress.
