Our Practice
Our team of cardiologists have been providing specialist general and preventative cardiology services dating back to 1983, to thousands of patients across the country. We are located in the heart of Sydney’s Central Business District at 50 Margaret Street, allowing us to be easily accessible to our patients from nearby and afar.

We offer a range of essential services including ECG, resting echocardiogram, stress echocardiogram, 24-hour holter monitor, ambulatory BP monitoring, and medical device checks. In addition, our doctors at Bligh Cardiology have developed special interests in a range of specialised and emerging areas of testing. These include coronary calcium analysis & risk management, cardiometabolic health, and our clinic for managing faints, blackouts and dyspnoea. Our Cardiologists
Dr. Stephen Fenton
MBBS, FRACP, FCSANZ, FACC
Dr Fenton is a highly regarded general and preventative adult cardiologist, committed to providing the best cardiac care possible and has a loyal following of patients dating back well over 30 years.
He has extensive training and experience in acute and emergency cardiac conditions, preventative cardiology, coronary artery disease, echocardiography and valvular heart disease. He graduated from Sydney University in 1976 completing his training at Sydney Hospital, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and Westmead Hospital. He is a Visiting Medical Officer at The Sydney Adventist Hospital and holds membership of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and is a Fellow of The American College of Cardiology.
Dr Fenton has a strong interest in continuing professional education and is an invited speaker, chairperson and panellist at national and international conferences. For many years he has been facilitating high quality and widely respected national and international educational events in cardiology.
Special interest in Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) Scoring and Analysis
He is a passionate advocate of a healthy diet and lifestyle and is currently involved in several ongoing collaborative research projects on the subject. He has a special interest in the benefits of Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) Scoring for identifying a patient’s risk of heart-attack, and lead the development of the online patient ‘Personal-Profile Risk Calculator’ for identifying patients who will benefit most from a CAC Scan. The benefits of this risk profile calculator have recently been published in the journal of Coronary Artery Disease. The adoption of the calculator and CAC Scoring will streamline assessment of at-risk patients, and fast-track required management for heart attack prevention.
Dr. Michael Jones
MBBS, FRACP
Dr Jones has extensive experience in cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac device implantation and complex ablation having practiced at the Royal Jubilee Hospital (British Columbia, Canada) and the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford (UK). He conducted a wide range of clinical research studies in ablation and cardiac resynchronisation device therapy. He is a Visiting Medical Officer at the Royal North Shore Private Hospital and is a member of the Royal Australian College of Physicians.
Special interest in medical devices, faints and dyspnoea
Dr Jones performs a broad range of electrophysiology procedures with a particular interest in atrial fibrillation ablation, as well as performing cardiac device implantation (pacemakers, cardiac defibrillators, and implantable loop recorders). He also leads our Faints & Blackout Clinic, and Dyspnoea Clinic.
Dr Zaidon Al-Falahi
MBBS, FRACP
Special interest in cardiometabolic health
Dr Al-Falahi has a special interest in electrophysiology, underpinning his PhD project through the University of Sydney, investigating the development of advanced wearable devices for the measurement of ECGs. He also has a special interest in cardiometabolic health.
Urgent
Consultations
We are always happy to review patients referred for urgent same-day consultations. The referring doctor may phone directly and we will aim to provide an appointment at short notice. We also will ensure a 24-hour report turnaround on testing, in particular results for resting echocardiography, stress echocardiography and cardiac CT. Our doctors collaborate closely with the patient’s referring GPs, to ensure we provide the best care and long-term management.

Our principal hospitals are the Sydney Adventist Hospital, as well as North Shore Private Hospital – two of the leading hospitals in Sydney. Our doctors and sonographers participate in relevant educational events and programs through the various organisations to provide our patients with the best management, testing and technology available.
